One of the nicer looking Birkenstocks!
I own several pair of Birkenstocks but usually only wear them around the house and to run errands on the weekends because I don't feel they are very attractive and actually make my feet look wider than they actually are. HOWEVER, because I developed plantar facitis in my left foot a couple months ago, I ordered these particular Birkenstocks (Gizeh) in hopes they looked a little nicer and I could wear them to work. Sure enough, THEY DO!!! I liked the look of them on my feet so much that I ordered another pair in a different color. Very cute sandal!
I admit, I love Birkenstock shoes and sandals in general. This sandal is cute, comfortable and secure for everyday wear. I do wear the Gizeh (and I like the Gizeh), but for work (teaching) this is more secure. I would really love to have this in leather, but shipping is expensive so I'll make it a point to buy them the next time I am in Europe. This will be my 4th pair
I buy a new pair every few years. I pretty much live in them. My only complaint is that the footbed gets grimey after a while if you don't clean them regularly. I think I only have myself to blame though.

One note, the size chart on this page doesn't match the size chart on the manufacturer's site. The chart on this page looks wrong. I wear a 45 birk and a size 12 sneaker (US), not a size 14 like the chart on this page.

Elegant, but strap cut my foot
For the record, I love Birkenstock sandals, and am on my 6th pair. I currently have plantar fasciatis on one foot, and my Chaco sandals weren't helping. I had purchased a pair of the Birkenstock soft-bed Milanos earlier this spring, which seem to help my heel pain and are very comfortable, but they are not dressy. I was hoping the Granadas would be a more elegant option.
Okay, full disclosure: I bought a pair of the black Grenada's at Famous Footwear, instead of Amazon (same price, but I could try them on and walk out with them at the store). I didn't pay attention when I tried them on at the store, but after wearing them for just a couple of hours, the tops of my feet hurt a lot-- a combination of feeling bruised and feeling scratched. I took them off to investigate and realized that the straps are not solid leather, but a thin layer of leather on top with a "soft" fabric touching the skin. The thing you have to remember about Birkenstocks is that they need a little bit of time to conform to your foot and once they do, they are more than worth it. The leather is nice and thick and the craftsmanship screams quality. I live in this shoe during the summer and I really like the look of this particular style. When it gets a little colder or I wear heels, this is the shoe I want to have waiting for me when I get home. After any amount of stress on your feet, these shoes realign them to take any pain away. I would wear them in the winter if it weren't cold (I cannot wear them with socks...it just goes against me) and the clogs just haven't reached the stylish look that the sandals achieve but you can bet I wear them around the house all of the time. Love these Birks!!
I have been a fan of Birkenstocks for over a decade, and these delight as always! The color of the sandals is true to the picture, and the are incredibly comfortable. I wondered if they would feel weird with the two straps that wrap around the toe, but find in the wearing that they are exceptionally comfortable -- I prefer this style to traditional sandals with the single thong between the first and second toes. I was so pleased with the fit and comfort I immediately ordered four additional pairs of the same style, in different colors. Have already received the Camelia Rose and Purple; both are gorgeous. I absolutely love these shoes. I bought them after seeing them on Pinterest. ;) I was a little nervous about buying them without trying them on, but since returning is so easy, I took the chance. It took walking around a bit in the house to get used to the feel of having the leather on my ankles, but it was not uncomfortable. If they feel a little odd at first, don't give up! I wear a 7 in women's shoes, average width and got 38 Medium. I am very happy with my purchase and can't wait for spring to start wearing them outside!
